The conference will take place in the building of the Faculty of Law and Administration, which is located on Bankowa Street 11b on the main campus of the University of Silesia in Katowice. This modern building was built in 2003 and has a floor area of over 16,000 square metres. Here you can see a panoramic presentation of one of its lecture theatres: link.

There are several hotels within 5-10 minutes walking distance to the University of Silesia main campus and venue, for example Novotel Katowice Centrum, Ibis Budget Katowice Centrum, Qubus Hotel and Hotel Katowice. The closet airport is Katowice Airport (IATA Code: KTW, ICAO Code: EPKT) located in Pyrzowice, which is about 40 km north from the city centre. There is a shuttle bus between the airport and the city centre; tickets (purchased on the bus) price information and timetables (in Polish) can be found here. Car rent and taxi service are available at the airport. It usually takes about 45 minutes to get from the airport to the city centre.

Katowice is the main city of the Upper Silesia region and major centre of science, culture, industry, business and transportation in Southern Poland. It lies in an urban zone with a population of more than 2.5 million and is the part of the Upper Silesian metropolitan area, with a population of over 5 million. Formerly the city of coal and steel, Katowice is today a rapidly growing and emerging metropolis with numerous tourist attractions, such as Nikiszowiec - an historical settlement of Katowice and candidate for the UNESCO World Heritage Sites List, Market Square and adjacent streets, the building of the Silesian Parliament, and many other interesting buildings and monuments. Katowice is also the hometown of the University of Silesia, which is the host of our conference. Katowice and the Upper Silesia region are close to Cracow, which is one of the most beautiful and attractive cities for tourists in Poland.
